Why It Matters

Community-funded campaigns change things.

Municipal elections in Toronto are funded entirely by individual contributions. With roughly 100,000 residents in the ward, it takes $70,000–$100,000 to run a full campaign. Every individual contribution makes a direct difference.

Your contribution goes directly to reaching more voters: lawn signs, door-knocking, printed materials, and community events. The more we raise, the more neighbours we can talk to.

What your donation funds:

$25Prints 50 door hangers for your street
$50Funds an hour of volunteer coordination
$100Covers one lawn sign, installed and maintained
$250Sponsors a community event or public meeting

Contribution limit: $1,200 per individual. The City of Toronto's rebate program refunds 50–75% of your contribution — so if you give $100, you get up to $75 back!

Contribution Requirements and Rebates

By donating, I certify that:

I am an eligible elector in Ontario (i.e., I am a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old, and a resident in Ontario or an owner or tenant of land in Ontario).
The money I am donating is my own money, and has not been provided by another person or organization for the purpose of making this contribution.
I understand that my name, address, and the amount of my contribution will be disclosed to the City of Toronto and may be made public as required by the Municipal Elections Act, 1996.
I understand that the maximum contribution an individual may make to a candidate for an office on the Toronto City Council is $1,200.

Upon donating, you will be issued a receipt and rebate application form via email. Complete and submit the form to claim your rebate.
